Harlequins are proud to announce that the Club’s Women’s team have broken another World Record for attendance at a Women’s club rugby match today at Big Game 14.

Breaking the previous record by over 6,000, Harlequins Women played in front of 15,420 fans watching this afternoon’s Allianz Premier 15s clash with Exeter Chiefs.

Using high resolution 360 imagery from the event and specialist software to tag and count the number of supporters sat watching the game, Harlequins were thrilled to have partnered with locally based Photography company Panoramic Imaging with their CrowdCam systems to confirm today’s 15,420 attendance.

Harlequins welcomed today’s record-breaking crowd as the team fell to defeat against Exeter Chiefs in the Allianz Premier 15s in a top four clash.

Harlequins also set the last record for Women’s club rugby attendance at Big Game 13 in December 2021, when 9,000 supporters saw the team claim a thrilling victory over Wasps Women in the first-ever Allianz Premier 15s game to be hosted at Twickenham Stadium.

Commenting on today’s record-breaking attendance, Harlequins Women’s Head Coach Amy Turner said: “It is fantastic to see this history-making team set a new world record for Women’s club rugby attendance.

“Big Game is a fantastic occasion and today’s new record is a testament to how hard this team and the staff behind the scenes are working to grow our game and to our brilliant supporters who get behind us in the stands. It is also yet another sign of how fast our sport is growing and we are so pleased to be able to play our small part in pushing Women’s rugby forward.”
