Some of the main things that sports kit designers and technologists might consider are the flexibility of the material and its moisture wicking features. But, recent research has suggested that kit designers should perhaps be prioritising the colour of the kit too. Red, for example, has been found to stimulate confidence in the wearer, and yellow encourages high energy levels.
CT Shirts, retailers of men’s suits and other garments, carried out their own research around the topic. They discovered facts such as 57% of FIFA World Cup winners wore blue, and four out of Brazil’s five world cup wins were in yellow. Discover the infographic below which reveals more statistics around the relationship between colour and performance.
